Newcastle United have dropped into the Premier League relegation zone after the latest round of games. The Magpies are now one of the three teams occupying the relegation zone after they were beaten by hosts Wolves last week Saturday. The Magpies were on the receiving end of a 2-1 loss at Wolves thereby maintaining their winless start to the new Premier League campaign.

The Magpies have not been able to register a single week after seven rounds of Premier League games this season. Steve Bruce and his Newcastle United players now have a record of three draws and four defeats in the league this term after the Wolves result.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlowconceded two goals during the Wolves game thanks to the brace from South Korean player Hwang Hee-Chan. Magpies boss Steve Bruce has had to deal with a lot of injuries to his goalkeeping department.Slovakia national team shot stopper Martin Dubravka is the first choice goalkeeper at Newcastle United but he has not played for his club this season due to injury. Dubravka was part of the Slovakia squad to the Euro 2020 tournament this summer.
In the absence of both first choice Dubravka and second choice Darlow, Freddie Woodman started the season in goal for Newcastle United until he also got injured. The injury to Woodman coincided with the return of Darlow to the Newcastle United first team squad.
Last season, Dubravka missed the start of the Premier League through injury and Darlowde putised for him until his return. The return of Dubravka to the team improved results for Bruce and Newcastle United as they were able to preserve their Premier League status.Darlow was in the Newcastle United goal during the Wolves game at the Molineux this weekend.
On the league table, Newcastle United are second from bottom with three points from seven games after the Wolves game. The Magpies are one of four teams yet to record a win in the Premier League this season.
